Im a kid and I hang out with my friends at a public school and they banned me because I wasnt picking someone up can they do that?

Since it appears that you are not a legally enrolled student at that school, the answer is:
YES
If you return to that school's property you can be arrested for criminal trespass

Of course they can - even kids understand that schools make sure that people who have no reason to be there should be removed. If you want to make sure you get in a lot of trouble, go back there (or any other school in the district without a valid reason).
