Is it against the law for gay couples to have commitment ceremonies?

In about seven or eight states, you can actually marry, and in a few more you can have a state-approved civil union.
Here in Georgia you can have all the ceremonies you want. You simply won't be legally married, and the state won't recognize your ceremony. But they won't prevent any celebrations you and your significant other may choose to have as long as you don't ask for a marriage license.
