Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Georgia
I lived with my boyfriend, there was a domestic thing and the cops were called. He attacked my 13 year old son, but I lied because I was scared of what he would do to us. Anyway, he took off that night to another state where he has family. No charges were filed since i made it sound like it wasn't a big deal. After he left, it was time to resign our lease, so I signed it myself only. Now several weeks later he's saying he's coming back to get his stuff. What are my rights to let him getting only what is his? I'm not letting him come in the house without the police.

Contact local law enforcement and discuss it with them and they might make an officer available to stay at your property while your ex retrieves his property. Offer to pay for one to come off-duty if it takes that. Then set an appointment for your ex to come, politely making it clear it is your home, not his, and he needs to make an appointment. A second choice (and not nearly as good) is to have a trusted, level-headed male friend on hand when he picks up his "stuff" (that you have already separated for him), and your phone in hand ready to call the police the instant one single antagonistic word is said. Don't bicker over worthless "stuff," don't damage his stuff, and if you pack it in a box, do it nicely. If there is something of real value that you bought together, send an email to discuss or, better yet, just give it to him to end the issue. We don't know if his stuff is a couple boxes, or a Uhaul of furniture. You know you have already made a couple mistakes at least, with a child involved, so this should be a big lesson.
Scott is absolutely correct
You could also obtain a family violence order from the Superior Court and explain why you covered up for him (fear he'd injure you and your son if you told the truth) A little risky but, you'd have that stay-away order in your hand when he shows up and the deputy right there to give it to him
Good luck
