Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Georgia

Loss of job after 18 years without justification

My husband had been with a company for 18 years and was a supervisor in shipping/receiving warehouse. He was terminated due to allegedly altering time cards and leaving early. A thorough investigation was not conducted. He was terminated after a four day investigation. One co-worker had been turned in previously for doing what my husband is accused of doing but he was not terminated nor was anything said to him. Another co-worker has came in staggering drunk for years and nothing is done to him.

There are so many different policy infractions that it is hard to name them all.

Does he have a legal basis for a lawsuit against this company?

Thank you for your time.

Re: Loss of job after 18 years without justification

Probably not. Unless your husband had an employee contract that limited his termination, the employer may terminate him for any non-discriminatory reason. The punishment of other employees is irrelevant unless it shows that the employer fired your husband for some discriminatory purpose.
