Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Georgia
Violation of Superior Court protective order
On May 6th 2002, I was attacked and almost beaten to death by my husband. He was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, cruelty to children, terrorist threats and disorderly conduct. On May 8th, 2002 the superior court judge ordered a protective order.(from georgia o.c.g.a 19-13-1)I filed for divorce and he continued to follow me. He was subsequently arrested for aggravated stalking. Under this order it states that he is restrained from following me
or having a third party follow me. On August 6th, 2002 he was denied bond on the aggravated stalking charge. The judge
was very explicit that he nor a third party was to follow me. I moved to Florida to be with my family. A Florida judge gave the Georgia protective order full faith and credit. However, my husband's attorney hired a private investigator to follow me. Not only does the attorney have knowledge of the protective order; but so does the private investigator. Isn't this intrusion upon seclusion? Since this private investigator is stalking me for my stalker.
I am presenting trying to file a protective order against this PI. Where do I go from here? Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely-
HB

Re: Violation of Superior Court protective order
Why not arrange a meeting with the PI [with your lawyer or 2 witnesses present] and see what he wants? It may prove more difficult to restrain the PI than your husband. If you don't have legal counsel in FL, you should.
