Paid for services not rendered by webhost.

I paid for web hosting services and domain name over 30 days ago. My hosting service say's Active when I log into the customer area but, I still don't have a domain name. Without a domain name, you have no website or hosting service. My daily email and calls to them are unanswered. I have a reciept and proof of everything. I feel they have breeched an agreement of some sort and I should be compensated. What is the name of the crime for charging for services while not making delivery of the goods?

Assuming you bought the domain name and the hosting account from the same place, clearly there is a problem and it shouldn't have taken more than a few hours to sort it out. Did you submit a trouble ticket? What did they say?

If you bought the domain name from another company, you have to tell them where to "point" the domain name. This information is in your start-up packet, which you should have received from your ISP as soon as they got your money.

Check whois, to see if your domain name has been properly registered. One place to check is whois dot net.

I can talk you through it, it's not that hard.

If you have done all of this and have't gotten a response, then get another ISP. At the worst, you've lost a month's services. I really like mine, and can recommend you if you like.
