Legal Question in Technology Law in Georgia

Being sued for developing a similar website

I developed a site that allow users to find apartment complexes within the city. If the user found an apartment, our company will give him/her a $100 for using us as a referral. However, there is another website that does the exact same thing, giving $100 per singed-lease if referred from that website. Can we get sued using the same idea? Are there any other legal issues we should be worried about?

Re: Being sued for developing a similar website

So long as you built your own site, didn't copy any of their processes or code, and didn't have access in the past to private information on the way they do business, you should be fine.
