Legal Question in Technology Law in Georgia

I am currently working as an IT consultant on a sexual harassment case. At the beginning of the case, I was hired by the female who is filing the suit. We agreed on a specific rate, and I sent her my invoice. Let us say, for example, I am charging her $500. Now, she is asking for $X in damages (to include the $500 I charged her, since there would be no case without my work), however her attorney is keeping 50% of what she gets. She called me to inform me that I would be paid half of what I am charging because her attorney keeps half of everything. Is there something I can do about this, because this is not right. I did not hire the attorney, and my work was completed regardless of whether or not she filed suit or not.

Thank you

There is no legal basis for her to withhold 50% unless that is what you two agreed to.
