Legal Question in Constitutional Law in Georgia
How can I get my grandfather off of these non profit lists? He recieves, no lie, 10-15 letters a day, and feels that it is his resposibility to answer and donate to all of them. There is this one group that sends him multiple letters a week and he throws money at them. He has a horrible memory problem and I have tried everything to help stop it. He is a retired army, so he does what he wants BUT he doesn't realize that these companies are taking advantage of him. The Policy Issues Institute sends him numerous letters in different formats several times a week, and he gives to every one. We don't have power of attorney. He won't give up his rights to give to whomever he choses, but donating once a month is ok. But several times a week is a bit ridiculous. Please help our family.

You do not have a legal issue (much less one in the topic of Constitutional Law). Assuming these are legitimate charities, and your grandfather is of sound mind, it is his choice to give as he sees fit, whether or not you or anyone else agrees or disagrees with it. If he is not of sound mind, you need to discuss with an elder law attorney in your area and deal with the larger issue and not what mail he gets.
Scott's answer is good. If he's incomptent, see an elder law attorney.
