Legal Question in Construction Law in Georgia
contractor vs homeowner
I own a small painting company. While painting a house, we accidentally got some paint overspray on some of the roofing shingles, 1% of total area at most. I have offered repeatedly to have the damaged shingles replaced by a roofer of their choice. They refuse to pay me and demand an entire new roof. I offered to discount the job by $500, which is more than enough to replace the shingles, but they ignore payment demands. It had been over a month. They refuse to allow me to bring professional roofers to evaluate the situation. I am out 4500.00. What should I do?

Re: contractor vs homeowner
The homeowners that you are dealing with may sense that you are not familiar with the laws that you can utilize to protect yourself; hence, they are taking advantage of you. Your best alternative is to obtain legal assistance. People usually become more focused on problem solving once an attorney gets involved.
