Legal Question in Construction Law in Georgia
contractor pending charges
i am a contractor, my business is incorporated. I was working on a job and i did not finish by the deadline do to not enough funds. However the homeowner pressured me to sign something stating i used the funds for my personal things and then a couple of weeks got me arrested for theft by conversion. After being taking into custody the people told me if i finished the job by the court date they would drop charges. However now the client has gotten another contractor to do work to the house and has changed the doors i put up and locked me out and my tools are still in there. Do i still have to complete the job with another contractor taking over? Will the theft by conversion charges be dropped? What should i do?

Re: contractor pending charges
There is only one answer - get a lawyer ASAP. You have been arrested! Not a case for getting or relying on message board advice when your freedom is at stake.
