What steps do I need to take in order to file a lien, for non payment

Step 1 is to see a lawyer who knows how to do it and has the correct forms (and knowledge about filing requirements). Give you step by step instructions is beyond this forum. After you see how it is done, you might be able to file future liens yourself.
