workers compensation

we did a job for a company and we have a contract

we had workers comp when we started the job but

because these people did not pay our insurance

canceled on 2-9-2006 we finished the job on 1-16-2006

now they are saying that we breeched the contract because

we did not maintain our insurance and they are refusing

to give us a check can they do that what options do we

have this is not the first time we have had trouble

with this company they have a lot of sub-contractors that they have not payed it is not just our company what are people going to do when the company that they have contracts

with decide to with hold payments I talked with a lady at the insurance commissioners office she told me that they could not hold payment for services already completed

and told me to turn them over to the labor board what do I do ----morgan

Without reading your contract it's difficult to say but at a minimum you may have the right to file a materialman's lien.
