Legal Question in Consumer Law in Georgia

30 Day Vehicle Law

I bought a used vehicle with no warranty December 17 of last year. On January 11 of this year the vehicle and I sat on the side of the road 2 hours away from my home. We replaced the battery as well as had the alternator checked the auto place found nothing wrong. Again today the vehicle is sitting on the parking lot where I work. What are my options with this being a no warranty vehicle is there anything I can do besides trade the vehicle for a new one? What Can I do? Can I give the dealer the vehicle back and ask for my downpayment back? What are my legal rights as a consumer?

Re: 30 Day Vehicle Law

When you buy a vehicle without a warranty, if it explodes 23 feet from the lot the same day, you have no recourse. The federal "As Is" sticker is a warning to a consumer that in effect "don't buy this car as there is no warranty, and if you do, check it out before you buy it."

Assuming that sticker was on the car, the dealer has no legal obligations to you.
