Auto dealer sold car to non-qualified buyer at inflated price with high interest rate; finance company financed even though buyer income not adequate for payments. Should let auto go back to dealer?

Re: Auto scam
You provide no facts indicating a "scam." An individual choosing to pay too much for a car, out of ignorance or otherwise, is not a "scam." Adults are presumed to understand contracts they sign, and only they know what they can afford. Whether the person chooses to return it (ie, allow a repossession), and face liability for the deficiency and a poor credit report is something he/she should decide.
Re: Auto scam
People are responsible for what they sign. The fact that something is a bad deal does not negate that. Turning a car in is almost always disaster. It will show as a repo on credit for 7 years. Additionally, usually the creditor will sue for a large deficiency, meaning a person ends up paying for the car they no longer have.
