Legal Question in Consumer Law in Georgia
Automatic contract renewal
I signed a contract for three years of service from a Home security Company. After completing the 3 year term I called to cancelthis service. I was told my contract was extented to another year because I failed to provide a notice 60 days before the end of my contract. Is this extension legal and do I have to continue another year?

Re: Automatic contract renewal
Sure it's legal. You need to read contracts you sign and realize that you are bound by them. If a contract provides for automatic renewal and you want to cancel, you must cancel when and how it provides.
In the future read what you sign. And don't sign contracts with automatic renewals.
Check the contract. If that's what it says, you're stuck.
