Legal Question in Consumer Law in Georgia
Automobile Repair - UNrepair
Took my auto to repair shop because of large transmission fluid leak. Mechanic identified problem as being defective seal. Was told problem was corrected. Two days after picking up my auto, massive transmission leak reappeared in exact same location. Mechanic says part received from dealer and installed is probably defective. What costs would I be responsible for? I paid for initial diagnostics, part, and service. I don't feel I should be paying for anything related to this again. Mechanic says I will be assessed a labor charge. Please advise.

Without being able to read the "fine print" (if any) in any documentation involved, it's hard to give you a definite answer, but I do not feel that you should have to pay for the labor. You might want to consult with a local attorney to review your paperwork.
