Legal Question in Consumer Law in Georgia
I was buying gift cards from someone who lives in Florida, and I live in Georgia.
At first we were trading on ebay and paypal, however we later decided to switch to using checks. This went well for a while, however about 6 months ago I sent them $1500 and never recieved the gift cards I payed for. I tried to contact them, but have not received a response. I was wondering what I can do to either get my money back or get the gift cards I payed for.
Thanks,
Melissa

I hate to break the bad news, but it is always foolish to pay by check or cash, and the danger increases when a merchant is not local.
That is why online you ALWAYS must use a credit card (not a debit card) or Pay Pal.
All you can do is drive to Florida and sue her in small claims court. You'll have to go back and forth several times and may or may not ever collect.
Although they probably can't and won't help you because you chose to bypass Ebay and PayPal report her anyway.
