Legal Question in Consumer Law in Georgia
I need to know if I can be charged for medical records copies if I didn't know there was a charge. I signed a form at my new doctor and sent it back to the old doctor to xfer records. I received a bill from a copy service that copied my records at the old doctor's office. They said they can charge me even through I didn't know about it and didn't agree to it, because I didn't request it at the "custodian of records" office. Is this legal? Do I have to pay this?

If you ask someone to perform a service for you, you should at least consider that there may be a charge for the service.
