Legal Question in Consumer Law in Georgia
The company I have a credit card with made a mistake. They withdrew money from my account to pay for my credit card. I asked for them to return it and they did however, they returned it as a cash advance. I have to call every month to have the interest charge reversed. I sometimes forget to do this or I dont have time. I have called several times and asked for them to take that off all together so I dont have to call in. I have been told they will get back to me and they never do. I even posted a comment on their website about it and they contacted me and told me they will look into it and get back to me but they never did. Doesnt the amount for interest on the cash advance get applied on to my balance and that is causing me to pay extra on something I dont have to? It seems illegal and I am getting really frustrated because if the interest on the cash advance does get applied then I should be getting money returned to me.

You say you called and posted on a website. While it is okay to do that, legally you have not complained at all. Legally, complaints about errors on credit cards HAVE to be made in writing. The procedure is on the back of every bill. You also say you forget or don't have time to complain and that is a problem as there are short time periods in which you must do your complaint. Since you had time to write this post, you have time to write a letter.
