Legal Question in Consumer Law in Georgia
Consumer Fraud
We hired a private investigator who told us she was a former police officer (not true) and promised to download the hard drive of the person being investigated. Charged us $10,000 and we got nothing for it. Can we sue? She also has unpaid employees, who are not registered with SOS and 2 public reprimands from Sec. of State.

Re: Consumer Fraud
You need a lawyer - maybe two. The first one to tell you if you have a case against the investigator (with many more facts than you posted). The second to defend you against criminal charges for conspiracy to commit a felony (downloading data from someone else's computer).
