Legal Question in Consumer Law in Georgia
contract question
My wife signed a contract with Gold's Gym. She was told it was Month-to-Month and could cancel at anytime. The portion of the contract that stated a sixty day notice would be required for cancellation was crossed out by the rep. of Gold's Gym. Now, of course, Gold's is stating that even though it was crossed out that the portion of the contract still applies. I live in Marietta Ga and am wondering two things: what can I do to get them to honor the contract and two, who can I contact if they are stubborn about doing the right thing?
Thanks.

Re: contract question
You may have trouble proving it was their employee and not your wife who crossed out that language. However, your only course of action is to take the initiative and ask for a declaratory judgment that she can terminate the contract. If you want a referral to an attorney in Marietta, please give me a call.
