Legal Question in Consumer Law in Georgia
Contractor has deposit; hasn't shown up
Contractor has a $3800 deposit for a new driveway. I am in Georgia and he has recently moved to Pennsylvania.
He owned a contracting company and we wrote an informal contract. The check was made to him personnally with his GA driver's licence number and social security number on the cancelled check.
I am still in contact with him but I have neither a new driveway or my deposit back. I'd like to end this.
1. Can I sue him in Georgia small claims?
2. What is the best was to get his new legal address?

Re: Contractor has deposit; hasn't shown up
Yes, you may sue him in small claims court (magistrate court) as long as you are seeking $15,000.00 or less. There are a number of ways to get someone's address - internet, phone number, private investigator.
