Legal Question in Consumer Law in Georgia
Court papers-how delevered
A creditor has sent--name removed--regular person to my house to present me with court papers. The person said he works for the county court office and when pressed to show me ID he did not have anything but--name removed--regular drivers license. Is this legal for the creditor/debt collector to do this?

Re: Court papers-how delevered
Courts frequently allow litigants to hire special process servers, so if that's what happened here, it's very normal. If you received a court summons, the more important issue is that you need to see a lawyer as you will be in default in 30 days if you do not answer.
