Legal Question in Consumer Law in Georgia

credit card settlement

i recently agreed with an atlanta law firm to settle with providian bank for $2,900. they took out $1,000 in nov. and $201 a month till the amount is paid off. now the say they let this lawyer go for making this deal and now they are not honoring the deal. they now want to add 7% interest a month on to that and will not send me a letter of my first deal. they say if i don't pay the interest they wil not satistfy the debt. i made a verbal contract with them and now they want to bleed me dry. i googled them the other day and they have a bad reputation about draining people out of everthing they have in the bank. what can i do about this? i want to pay it off but they are playing hard ball.

Re: credit card settlement

You screwed up. You never do a settlement with a creditor without written documentation. Your paperwork with the bank likely forbids oral modifications of your agreement with the bank so you probably now owe them more.
