Legal Question in Consumer Law in Georgia
In December 2008 someone opened a credit card in my maiden name after I had been married for 4 months and used a California address. I have never lived in California. They spent over 4,000 dollars and I didn't even realize this had happened until I was denied a credit card which prompted me to pull my credit report. I contacted the credit card company about this and the account was closed immediately. Is this grounds to sue the credit card company for negligence, ruining my credit, etc.?

You fail to state how your credit is ruined. What steps have you taken to have the credit card issuer report to the credit bureaus, to remove the negative entries? What happened when you reported the issues to the bureaus?
