Legal Question in Consumer Law in Georgia
Dispute with Car Dealership
My husband and I bought a used truck almost 1 month ago and gave a $2000 CASH down payment, we were told that our bill of sale was our reciept. Now 1 month later they are telling us that they never recieved the down payment and if we don't give them another $2000 they will hold our title and tags and wait for the bank to repo it. What are my rights?

Without reviewing the documents involved, I can't give you any reliable advice. You shoud have the documents reviewed by a local attorney.
Re: Dispute with Car Dealership
You mention a Bill of Sale, but you don't mention what it says, what any other agreements say, or whether there are any other agreements. All details of a major purchase should be in writing, especially the financial transactions, and they should be read and understood prior to signing or paying. Given the amount at issue, and the possibility that small claims court will not be an option, you may be best advised to see a local lawyer and provide him/her with the full story and paperwork.
