Legal Question in Consumer Law in Georgia

My elderly friend purchased a new car within 24 hours the check engine light came on. She contacted the dealer and the service tech was very rude. I went with her back to the dealer on Monday and requested that they either exchange the car or cancel the whole deal. They refused to and stated that the part would be there on Wednesday. We took the car back on Thursday to have the sensor put on the car. The next morning the car would not start. Again we took it back they repaired it but we asked for a new car since this has happened twice with in a week of purchase. They stated if she would like to she could trade the car in with them at a substantial lose. Is there anyway that we can hold this dealer responsible or even possible sue them for the lose if she trades the car in with another dealer we no longer want to deal with this crooked dealer.

The answer wil be different if the car is a NEW car or a USED car and your post does not say which. Either way she cannot sue the dealer. However her rights are very different and no one can answer you because of what you left out. What I can say is that you have mishanlded it badly for her up to this point regardless. Add enough to your post as to whether the car was a new car or used car, if there is a warranty, etc.
