Legal Question in Consumer Law in Georgia

i found a foreign object in a hushpuppy from a local resturant. I have taken pictures, talked to the owners and gotten information of the company that they buy their hushpuppies from, and I still have the object in my freezer. What should I do ? There may be a possibility of others being hurt, harmed , or in danger . I am concerned and this is a real case. Thanks

Send it to the company so they can take it from there, or follow their instructions. Get a free meal or two from the restaurant. What other kind of "real case" do you think it is? A real case with a lot of money going to you? No. Things happen. Objects fall into the pot at the manufacturer, the restaurant and your kitchen. Apparently no harm done.

You don't have a legal problem.

If you had not overblown this, the restaurant company would have comped you a free meal or two. At this point, with your overkill, I suspect they will simply ignore you.

Beyond that you could give the hush puppy to the local county health department and ask them to do an inspection.

But this is NOT a "real" or significant case.

Did you eat the hushpuppy? Were you physically injured at all? What was the foreign object? Some foreign objects might have a real gross-out value like finding a human body-part in the food.

I am not sure what you are looking for here. If it really is concern for the public, write to the actual franchise owner of the restaurant as well as to the parent company and explain that you found the object. I am not sure where in the process it got into the food - was this done at the restaurant or was it done by the manufacturer of the hushpuppies? Might want to also write to the hushpuppy supplier too. Explain your concern and ask them to investigate as you want to protect the public. Do not ask for any compensation and do not threaten to sue. They might give you something as a good will gesture and whether they do anything or not, its out of your hands.

If you are looking for dollars, that is not going to happen unless you sustained a real physical injury or unless the object was absolutely horrifying, as in the case of ahuman body part or possibly a mouse or something. In that case, I would actually pay to consult with a Georgia personal injury attorney or see if the attorney gives free consults.

Depending on what the foreign object was, the county health department oversees the regulation of restaurants. You might also report the incident to them and they can act or not. I might not eat at this place and if I did, I would not get hushpuppies again.
