Legal Question in Consumer Law in Georgia
garnishment of bank account for rooms to go
Bought furniture from Rooms To Go, fell behind on payments was sent to collections. After collection it was sent to an attorney. I was summons with a lawsuit, which I answered. Shortly after, my bank accounts were frozen and garnished. Did not receive a court trial to tell my side of the story. The suite was filled in Fulton County, after answering to the summons the plaintiff filed for a motion for judgement and the judge in fulton county signed it. The attorney then requested a garnishment from a different county court, gwinnett county and was granted the garnishment. My question is.. Do I have the right to a trial when I answered the first summons in fulton county court. Since I did not have a court hearing in fulton is there any way to appeal this.

Re: garnishment of bank account for rooms to go
The short answer is that you should have gotten notice of the judgment against you whick led to the garnishment. Consult with a local attorney who can figure out why you didn't get a chance to challenge the judgment.
