Legal Question in Consumer Law in Georgia
Governing Law
A debt collector is using a standard credit card agreement to argue that I must pay attorney fees. In that same agreement, it states that the agreement is to be governed by Virginia and federal law. However, they sued me in a local court in Georgia. Do I have any defense concerning the governing law?

Re: Governing Law
It is common for courts in one state to use the law of another state. It is often the norm in credit card agreements.
