Legal Question in Consumer Law in Georgia

Hello,

I subscribed to Clear (internet) bundled with DirecTV. The service that I got from Clear was not what they said it was (extremly unstable signal hurting my business)

I need to cancel the service and now they wnat me to pay termination fees. In the case of DirectTV de service is fine but I have to cancel it to accerss better bundles (internet TV phone) with other companies. DirecTV claims that they are not related with Clear and therefore I would need to also pay termination fees.

Please advice.

No one has your contracts to see what they promised. That is what counts, not what they "said" outside the contract. That is important information you left out. Read the contract. Otherwise, you'll likely have to decide to continue the service or pay the termination fee.

Almost all such contracts have termination fees. Presumably you read them before you signed. You're now bound by them.

You have learned an expensive lesson (two actually). Contracts mean what they say and bind you when you sign. And as a consumer you should research companies better.

Had you researched Clear on Google you would have found many complaints. Didn't you do that? (The complaints deal with coverage issues).

At this point pay the fees. (Sometimes you can get, as a good will gesture, a company to waive them, but otherwise you have to pay).
