Legal Question in Consumer Law in Georgia
Hounded by would-be creditor
Hi. Several months ago I ordered some shoes from a company on the computer. This company offers a ''buy now, pay us later'' payment plan. The shoes were promptly returned to the company (unworn of course). This company is still hounding me for payment of the shoes. I've written them, talked to them...nothing has worked so far...but I DO NOT owe them any money. They have threatened to put this on my credit report! Please help!!!

You failed to even mention their return policy, which you agreed to when you purchased the items. Without knowing that, there is no way to speculate.
Re: Hounded by would-be creditor
Without knowing if they have a return policy it's very hard to answer you. If they don't have a return policy you owe the money.
If you have proof of the return being received (hopefully you sent it insured) and they have a return policy you complied with, then send them a certified "drop dead" letter (see an example at www.Clarkhoward.com ) attaching proof of their receipt of the return and simply saying you do not owe a balance.
