Legal Question in Consumer Law in Georgia
New house garage flooding after it rains.
I recently purchased a new house and after it rains the front corner of the garage floods. This is due to improper slope of the floor in this area allowing water to pool. The water has caused damage to the door frame and concrete in this area. Is it the responsibility of the builder to correct the problem? Thanks.

Communicate with your builder in writing about the problem and demand that he fix it within 30 days. If you do not get the desired result, then you should consult with an attorney. Meanwhile do what you can to prevent moisture from accumulating in the area because you have a duty to mitigate/prevent further damage.

You fail to state the terms of any contract, agreement, or warranty, with the builder, how long you had the house, etc. Without that information, a response is just guesswork. Writing a letter may do little good if ou don't state the basis for your request.
