Legal Question in Consumer Law in Georgia
My husband & i recently found a home to rent and put a deposit down and 1st months rent. two days later we decided we did not to move into this house. we notified the gentleman and he told us we would have our monies returned to us by the end of the week. his partner then decided he would not return any of our money. we never have even met this partner. he now has decided that he will return half if we send him an email agreeing with this. i do not see that he has the right to keep any of the money since we had never taken possession of the property. help

You leave out the most important details - did you sign anything and if you did what does it say. If you signed a lease or other contract, look there for your answer. We don't have a copy. Taking possession of the property is not the issue.
You left out the only things that matter. What did your lease say (and did you sign one)?
