Legal Question in Consumer Law in Georgia
My husband and I recently took my mother in laws car to a repair shop. While there my husband and I filled out the information with our names since we were the ones present at the time. Long story short, our mother in law wasn't satisfied with her service and completed a stop payment on the check she paid them. They are now taking the case to court. I know someone is facing criminal charges, ect. But my question is, will they be taking my husband and I to court since we filled out the paperwork, or will they take my mother in law to court since the vehicle is in her name and she wrote and cancelled the check?

If the two of you signed agreeing to be responsible, they can sue the two of you. You never should have signed.
