Legal Question in Consumer Law in Georgia
is it illegal to stop payment on a check that i made out to a dealer for my insurance deductible. i picked my truck after repairs, got home and found several items wrong so i stopped pmt on the check because the services rendered were not proper. i.e. misalignments and seals leaking and foggy lights. the check was for $500. the dealer stated that i had intnet to pay and then stopped the check.i stopped it though because of unsatisfactory results. i can prove i had the money in the bank to cover the check. i returned the vehicle to be fixed and it is currently under repair.
