Legal Question in Consumer Law in Georgia
Lifetime Warranty
When I built my home in 1995, I received a written lifetime seal-fracture warranty from the manufacturer (Company A) of my windows. Company A was bought out by Company B in May '95. Over the years, several (3) Customer Service Reps for Company B have honored my warranty and replaced defective windows when needed. A new Cust.Svc.Rep with Company B now refuses to honor the warranty saying that my warranty was good for only 5 years after Company B bought out Company A; however, my printed warranty from Company A says ''Lifetime Warranty to Original Owner'' and I am still the original owner. Do I have any grounds for pursuing Company B in small claims court? Thank you. Jim Dowdy
