Legal Question in Consumer Law in Georgia

purchased an 04 hummer h2 in november of 09 have had issues since day one but bought as is from buy here pay here lot. this month took it to have audio work done, and found a toggle switch connected to the dack of the odometer what are my rights?

If you bought it "As is" you have NO rights. When you do that, the seller is admitting that they think they are possibly selling you a piece of garbage and that you need to get it inspected at your expense before you buy it.

If you bought it with a warranty, you have exactly what rights the warranty says you have.

If you suspect the odometer was played with, that is a crime, and you should ask the Georgia Office of Consumer Affairs to investigate.

In addition, as far as any claim against the seller, it is highly unlikely that they did the tampering as they would not have had the vehicle long enough to worry about additional mileage. If they knew about it, it is much more likely they would have fixed it before selling.
