Legal Question in Consumer Law in Georgia

I purchased some Teddy Grahams at a discount store on clearance yesterday. The box was damaged, so I thought that was why they were discounted. I gave my 20 month old a package of them after opening it. I then got myself a package and tasted one. They tasted and smelled so badly like chemicals. I can't describe how horrible they tasted and smelled. I looked at the best if used by date, and it was June 2011....over a year ago. Can I sue them for damages? This literally just happened, but I can't imagine if my kids were to get into these teddy grahams and get sick from them.

What damages? You failed to tell us anything about the damages you suffered. What you "imagine" could happen does not matter. In addition, the expiration date is there for a reason. It is so YOU can read the label and see when they expire. If you purchase and eat expired food, it is your fault. No, willingly eating food clearly labeled as expired, and suffering no damage at all, is not an opportunity to get a big check.
