Legal Question in Consumer Law in Georgia
Purchasing a used lemon car from an individual
A 23 yr old I work with purchased a nissan mixima from an individual, and two days later the transmission literally fell out of the car. He used all his savings to purchase this, it is his first car. He told the individual about it and he said he didn't know what he had done to the car in two days, but that was too bad. Is there any legal recourse for him?

The "lemon law" won't help, since it only applies to new cars. Your friend should sue the seller in small claims court (assuming the amount in question is less than $15,000.00) for return of the price. He will have to convince a judge that the seller knew or should have known of the defect.
