Legal Question in Consumer Law in Georgia
We recently purchased a 2008 Cadillac Escalade from a Auto auction online it was advertised as a total loss vehicle from Hurricane Sandy in New York. The SUV was clean and reconditioned it had no check engine lights or trouble indicators prior to and after purchase, with the winning bid and taxes and fees plus delivery; we had made a $20.000 investment!!
after it was delivered we made an appointment to have it State inspected because it was titled a salvage vehicle and on the day of the inspection the airbag light came on and the check engine light as well,( some 2 weeks after our purchase!) we decided to take the car to a Chevrolet dealer service department because it was nearest our home and convenient for us to drop it off and pick it up per our job locations the service staff was fully aware as to the status of the car because even after I told them it was a salvage vehicle they ran the vin for recalls and discovered the same information! the service member even remarked to me how beautiful the condition of the car was and how he couldnt believe it was in a flood! I signed a document authorizing a diagnosis of the airbag system and the check engine light.
No one at any time stated any policy or disclaimer or anything barring negligence concerning working or servicing my car, they took it to their service garage and I was satisfied in knowing that the Service Department would resolve my issues. On 4/22 at approximately 10:45 am I received a call from the service department stating that they had some Badddddd News for me and that the Airbags ...all of them in the car!!! had been deployed!!! Causing upwards of $15.000 dollars damage to the Interior and that it was my loss and they wanted to know what I wanted them to do!!!.......
I immediately requested to speak to someone in Authority and was transferred to a manager who never answered or returned my call!! after several attempts to get some resolution I finally got a call back from a gentleman who stated he was the Store Manager, he had me on speaker phone with 2 others and they all agreed that my car should have never came across the service bay and that the service man would get reprimanded, however there was NOTHING that they were going to do for my loss and damages!!
My wife and I are distraught and are seeking relief!! We went to that dealership in good faith believing them to take care of our minor situation, which is now an Atrocity

Nothing in your post asks a question, and nothing actually tells us that the dealer caused the problem. If an independent mechanic determines the dealer did something wrong, hire a lawyer.
