Legal Question in Consumer Law in Georgia
reposession laws
I feel my car was reposess illegally. I called the creditor on Monday and told her my payment would be late. My car was reposess on Tuesday, she said on Monday she would tell her husband She did not get back with so I assummed it was ok. This a shady business and I feel like they set out to take my money from the begining. I paid 1250. for a 1993 honda accord, 1250. dwm they took this before i got the car. they told that they be damage cars thats been in a wreck, but frame not damaged. So they need that money to start working on it and it would be ready in 2wks. It was''t it was 5 to 6 wks. They throw out 2 list of long papers assuring you thats all these itiems bee state inspected and inspected by them, My car was filthy on the inside they hadn't out or washed it, paint was sloppy, power steering was leaking and it needed a alignment and I'm sure gods knows whatelse. They tell you one thing when you put your down on the car and give you paperwork saying something else when you pick it up. The car was 3500. And when I paid the 1250. dwn the wife wrote on a piece of yellow notebook my finace charge which was 749. and sales tax 210. when I pk the car up I paid another 200. and on 3/23/ pd 125. Total 1575. Re: reposession laws
You start by saying you were late. That often is a valid basis to repossess. Your own assumption about it being OK does not change that. Beyond that, you do not post enough relevant details for a better response.
