Legal Question in Consumer Law in Georgia
Saturn Automotive/missing check-link
My recently purchased used 1997 Saturn sedan SL2 has no check-link on the driver's side door, causing it swing freely. The car was in such great shape when I picked it up, I didn't notice the problem. The door closes by itself, and it's hit my leg and back several times, and I even locked the keys inside the car when the door closed unexpectedly before I got in.
The dealer seems to balk at providing this apparently integral part of the door. The car was purchased ''as-is,'' but it would seem that I should get a complete door under any circumstances without having to pay extra. Do I have any chance of getting them to fix my two-week old car? Thanks.

Re: Saturn Automotive/missing check-link
I don't know your chances - perhaps they'll help you out just to make you happy. However, "as is" generally means exactly that and not "as as, except for [my particular issue]."
