Legal Question in Consumer Law in Georgia
Service contract
in March 2001 I signed a contract
with an alarm security company. In
the terms it is stated that after the
initial term of 1 year the agreement
shall automatic ally renew for an
additional period on 1 year unless
cancelled by written notice 60 days
prior to the expiration date. I wish to
cancel at this time, and the company
has informed me that I must pay the
entire year. Must I/ Do I have any
recourse?

Re: Service contract
From your post, you agreed to the terms of the contract, including the termination provision, when you signed, and by accepting performance over the last few years. You have not posted any facts to show why you would not have to follow your agreement.
