Legal Question in Consumer Law in Georgia
small claims lawsuit won- need to collect
Won a small claims lawsuit of 2,400. for faulty driveway. Defendant is owner of company and person sued/won case against. How do I go about collecting the judgement from him? I am in GA. (He never responded to suit- I won by his not returning paperwork, etc.) I hear he has more than one suit against him- often changes company name to get rid of bad name/BBB reputation. Name on suit, again, is owners. Sued him personally since he owns the company. Operates it from his home which is where I had him served by the local sherrifs dept. Thank you in advance for your help in this matter.

The following is a link to all you need to know to do a do-it-yourself levy and collection. The forms are for Gwinnett County, but you can change them for the county you are in. In fact, check with the court where you recieved your judgment and they may have the forms. Good luck.
