Legal Question in Consumer Law in Georgia
Can I sue a fast food company?
I visited a McDonalds and found what appears to be a ''chicken claw'' can I sue them and what type of attorney would I need? They already had their insurance company contact me and ask me ''what I was looking for''. No apologizes they only try to tell me it is probably a piece of grissle and they questioned why I have kept the foreign object. Do I have any legal options at this point? It seems like they want to pay me to go away.

Sue them for what? What are your damages? Do you believe that finding something in food, and apparently suffering no harm whatsoever, entitles you to a big payday? Why would they want to "pay you to go away" when you apparently have suffered no harm, and therefore have no basis for damages? You certainly should be entitled to reimbursement for your meal, and maybe some coupons for a happy meal or two. As for the type of lawyer -- one who files frivolous lawsuits.

A mistake at McDonalds is not a road to riches, and no, it is not a reason to sue. To be able to sue, you have to be damaged. You suffered no legal damages whatsoever. The right way to have handled this would have been a polite call to the regional manager adn a letter to their main office, and they would have probably sent you several coupons for free food. By threatening them with a frivolous suit, you probably won't ever get the coupons. You have overreacted to say the least.
