Obviously, yes.

"Charged off" is a term used in credit reports that, loosely translated, is a warning to everyone that the creditor was not paid, that they consider you a deadbeat, and that since they were not paid, they have had to enter a loss on their books. Typically the next step is that they sell the debt to a collector, who sues you.

Your remedy, since you did not pay your bills, is to either find a lawyer and go bankrupt or to see if you have other defenses (ask the lawyer). Be sure to hire counsel less than 30 days after you were contacted.
