Legal Question in Consumer Law in Georgia

I had the timing belt replaced on my car. After picking it up, I noticed a whining sound coming from the motor area. I took the car back the next day. I was told to drive it for another 200 miles and if the noise didn't go away to bring it back.

I took it back since it was still making the noise. Dropped my car off the next day around 8am. Around 2:45 one of the mechanics came by my house to say the car had been hit in their parking lot. This was the case and the insurance company sent a check for the damage to the body to be repaired.

The PROBLEM is that the next day, the shop called to tell me that when the man hit my car, it must have knocked a pin lose in the motor. When they tried to start the car the motor blew up.

The shop says it is the man's insurance company that needs to pay. I don't think it is possible for the hit to have knocked something lose in the motor to cause it to blow up. There would be cars all over that have blown motors.
