Legal Question in Consumer Law in Georgia
My vehicle was broken in to while at a repair shop.
My cd/disk changer was stolen from my vehicle while at a repair shop. The police found no forced entry. Other valuble items were not taken, not even the cd's on the seat. Just the changer the disk in the changer and the remote. The removal was clean. Not even a scratch, even screws were put back.
Is the repair shop liable for my loss or part of it?

Re: My vehicle was broken in to while at a repair shop.
The repair shop is probably responsible. The act of entrusting the vehicle to the shop creates what is called a bailment, with you as the bailor and the shop as bailee. Georgia law provides as follows: "All bailees are required to exercise care and diligence to protect the thing bailed and to keep it safe. Different degrees of diligence are required according to the nature of the bailments."
